Flexing your glutes when you do a rep is recommended when lifting weights over your head. This will help firm up your butt while helping your body to align itself better for a safer work out. Your spine is held in a much more stable position this way.

When choosing exercise footwear, be sure to pick properly fitted shoes. You should buy the shoes you’re going to exercise in at the end of the day. Your feet swell over the course of the day, and they will do the same when you work out. You should ensure there is a half inch of space between the shoe and your big toe.
