Walking with good posture and technique is important to make sure you don’t injure yourself. Throw your shoulders back and keep your spine straight. Watch your elbows and make sure they fall at right angles. Each arm should swing forward in conjunction with the opposite foot. Your heel should make contact with the ground first, the remainder of your foot should then roll forward.

Doing Wall Sits

If you are looking to strengthen your leg muscles, try doing wall sits. When doing wall sits, make sure you have an empty wall, with nothing too close to your body. Position yourself approximately eighteen inches away from the wall, and look in the opposite direction. Crouch down slightly at the knees then slowly lean backwards so your back is resting against the wall. Bend your knees and when the tops of your legs are even to the ground, you will look as though you are sitting. Try to hold this position as long as possible.

Want more from your workout sessions? It is beneficial to stretch if you are going o build muscle. You should stretch 20-30 seconds inbetween sets. Stretching for a brief period is all you need to do to get the most out of your workout.
