Although everyone desires healthy hair, most people find it difficult to achieve. When it comes to treating your hair properly, a lot of individuals also fall victim to the many myths and outright lies out there. Figuring out how to treat your hair properly could leave you with damaged or even lost hair. Continue on for some great hair tips that have been proven to be successful.

A healthy body produces healthy hair. To keep your body and your hair healthy, you need to eat a nutritious diet and drink adequate quantities of water. Eating a diet consisting of many grains, vegetables, fruits, beneficial fats and lean proteins really helps your hair stay strong and healthy.

To keep your hair healthy and free from damage, avoid brushing it while it is wet. When your hair is wet, it is a lot more fragile and more likely to break. To keep damage at a minimum, try brushing your hair prior to showering or waiting until your hair dries before you comb it.

If you enjoy the look of your hair after a day in the ocean, you can buy products that can give your hair the same effect. To locate them, look for phrases like “salt spray” on product labels. To create your own formula, put a teaspoon of salt into 8 ounces of water. You can add lavender oil for a splash of fragrance; about ten drops per eight ounces of water should do the trick!

Blow Dryer

Minimize the use of a blow dryer. Because the hot air that comes from your blow dryer is able to cause a lot of damage to your hair, it’s best to let it air dry as often as you can. Don’t hold the dryer in one place for too long. Make sure you always use your blow dryer on the low, cool setting. You can minimize your use of the blow dryer by towel-drying your hair first.

Don’t stay out in cold weather for long periods of time. Cold weather can reduce essential oils and nutrients in your hair, causing it to become dry. If you need to stay outdoors for a long time, make sure to wear a hat.

As aforementioned, everyone wants to have a healthy head of hair; however, growing and maintaining healthy hair can be challenging. Thankfully for you, if you apply the tips that you have just read, you’ll soon discover that you can have healthy hair. So what is it you are waiting for?
