Soft and shiny locks are something that everyone wants, however, very few people know how to get them! Some people have bad hair days, but if you’re having a bad hair year, check out this article to see what you can do to make your hair look beautiful.

If you enjoy the way that the hair look after getting it wet in the ocean water, try products that can mimic the ocean’s effects. Look for salt sprays in the conditioning section of your favorite stores. You can even mix up your own batch by dissolving a teaspoon of salt into a cup of water. If desired, you can also add lavender oil (ten drops) for a pleasant scent and moisturizing effect.

For healthy, shiny hair, start with a healthy and nutritious diet. Just like any other part of your body, your hair requires proper nutrition in order to grow. Vitamin deficiencies are often the cause of split ends and breakage. Significant nutritional deficiencies could also cause hair loss. Ensure that you are eating the right foods to have the best hair health.

Blow Dryer

To avoid damaging your hair while blow drying, do not leave blow dryer in one area for too long. By continually moving the blow dryer, it will help prevent damage to your hair.

Whenever you color your hair, wait about 48 hours before giving it a shampoo. Your hair’s cuticle needs time in order to seal itself so that the color will stay true and last longer. Even getting your hair wet can re-open the cuticle in those first few days. By waiting a mere 48 hours you will have beautiful healthy hair.

If you swim regularly, be certain to get your hair wet before going in the pool; that will mean that your hair absorbs less of the chlorinated water. It is also important to either wear a cap when you swim or wash and moisturize your hair immediately following a swimming session. This will keep damage to a minimum.

Products made with alcohol ought to be eschewed, because they promote hair dryness as time passes. Also, do not apply products directly to your scalp, to avoid irritation or clogged pores. If you have these issues it can make your hair look bad.

Although highly coveted, many people just aren’t aware of the many things they can do to get gorgeous hair. With any luck, you are now one step closer to getting a head of incredible, healthy hair that is worthy of your favorite star! Put what you’ve learned into practice – and bask in complements from your friends!
