In the struggle against acne, sometimes it can seem like nothing you are doing will help. You may spend a lot of money on what you hoped would be a cure, only to find your zits is still as bad as ever. But if you have good information about your skin and acne itself, you can start to get acne under control.

Teeth Whitening

Some teeth whitening products are harsh enough to cause an pimples breakout. If you frequently experience breakouts around your mouth, your teeth whitening treatments could be the culprit. Sometimes whitening toothpastes, tooth strips and mouthwashes can cause breakouts. The skin around your lips is often more sensitive and prone to breakouts.

If you wear makeup, try to limit the amount that you use, or even stop wearing it until your zits clears up. While you may want to apply makeup to hide your pimples, you should understand that it can clog your pores. Keeping your face clean and fresh for a while, can help bring your pimples back under control.

Schedule more outdoor time to reduce your acne. Exposing skin to the harsh heat of the sun will cause your skin to dry up. Initially, the oil may rise to the top of your skin, which can temporarily make pimples worse. However, within a few weeks you’ll use up this reserve oil, and your skin will be healthier.

Don’t use different acne creams at once. Some people think if they use every product out there, the combined effects will help them quicker. Because these treatments all contain strong ingredients, you could make your skin worse.

A good zits fighting vitamin is zinc, which can help to reduce free radical formation under the skin. If you have problems with cystic pimples that produces facial bumps, take a zinc supplement each day which works inside the body to clear up the problem.

If you are exercising or in a hot environment, clean your face often. Bring along a pack of moist towelettes if you know you will be out of reach of running water and skin cleansers. This way you can remove impurities and bacteria from your face. Avoid using wipes in place of your cleanser.

Now that you have learned what you should be doing to treat zits, and what you should refrain from doing, you can take what you learned and start living an acne free life. It’s important to go slow with any techniques you use to rid your skin of acne. Using the advice from this article, you will be able to clear your skin up.
